High School Jazz Festival

Your High School Jazz Band is invited to apply to participate in the 2nd annual Valley Dale HS Jazz Invitational on March 21, 2026.
This event will host up to 24 high school programs, performing in the Historic Valley Dale Ballroom, a sacred mecca for big band jazz.
Your students will have the opportunity to prepare and present 3 jazz tunes, perform them on the special stage of Valley Dale, and receive commentary from 3 respected jazz educators (via recording). They will also have the opportunity to tour the Valley Dale Ballroom, learn of the rich history of big band jazz in Columbus, and the legacy of a wonderful facility such as this, right here in our hometown.
The event will be open to the public, so you may invite fans and families to hear your performance. There will be a full concession stand available in Valley Dale. Students will be allowed to attend as much of the day as they wish. Paid audience may stay as long as they wish, and come and go as they please. This will be a great day of jazz in Columbus.
No contest, nothing but jazz and fun performances. This event will be a BIG event, open for up to 24 bands, allowing any and all bands interested to apply.
The entry fee for this event is $150. Upon completion of your application and receipt of your entry fee, your performance time will be assigned. Performance times will be assigned on a first come basis. Entry fees will not be refundable after March 1, 2026. A waiting list will be established if more than 24 bands apply. Your students deserve to be a part of this fabulous jazz festival in the Historic Valley Dale Ballroom. To apply please complete the application below.
