Celebrate the Holidays with our annual Christmas Spectacular. This must see event features all four of our fabulous singers, Michael Phillips, Lori Everhart, Ben Lucas and MaryLee Melendez, and special guests, Vocallities Chorus. Presenting Christmas and songs of the season big band style this is always show for the whole family. It has become a holiday tradition that you won’t want to miss.

The Rick Brunetto Big Band appears weekly at the “Famed and Fabulous” Valley Dale Ballroom. As Columbus’ premiere big dance band this 18-piece orchestra has been a staple on the Central Ohio music scene for over 40 years. Featuring the area’s finest musicians and singers the Rick Brunetto Big Band presents an unforgettable evening of music and dancing for all ages. Not only will you will enjoy the great swinging sounds of the big band era of Glenn Miller, Tommy Dorsey, Frank Sinatra, Stan Kenton, Count Basie and Duke Ellington, but you will also rock to the sounds of Motown, Chicago, Earth Wind and Fire, Bruno Mars and more. With 5 of the finest singers in Central Ohio you will be treated to a Vegas style show. In the setting of the beautiful Valley Dale Ballroom and the largest dance floor in Columbus this is truly one of the best entertainment experiences you will find anywhere.

Your High School Jazz Band is invited to apply to participate in the Valley Dale HS Jazz Invitational on February 22, 2025.
This event will host up to 24 high school programs, performing in the Historic Valley Dale Ballroom, a sacred mecca for big band jazz.
Your students will have the opportunity to prepare and present 3 jazz tunes, perform them on the special stage of Valley Dale, and receive commentary from 3 respected jazz educators (via recording). They will also have the opportunity to tour the Valley Dale Ballroom, learn of the rich history of big band jazz in Columbus, and the legacy of a wonderful facility such as this, right here in our hometown.
The event will be open to the public, so you may invite fans and families to hear your performance. There will be a full concession stand available in Valley Dale. Students will be allowed to attend as much of the day as they wish. Paid audience may stay as long as they wish, and come and go as they please. This will be a great day of jazz in Columbus.
There has not been a HS Jazz Festival like this in Columbus in many years. No contest, nothing but jazz and fun performances. This event will be a BIG event, open for up to 24 bands, allowing any and all bands interested to apply.
The entry fee for this event is $150. Upon completion of your application and receipt of your entry fee, your performance time will be assigned. Performance times will be assigned on a first come basis. Entry fees will not be refundable after February 1, 2025. A waiting list will be established if more than 24 bands apply.
